As it has become tradition now, every year I try to organise a surprise for Adrian's birthday. It is normally a short holiday away and usually I manage to keep the destination secret until the very last moment ( Read more... )

I really like the moodiness of the final photo:) I've decided in 2016, I'm going to adopt your philosophy of taking wonderful, exotic trips. I've not been anywhere other than Texas and Minnesota since 2009. I've made about 20 trips between those two states. I should finally be settled in Texas by November.

Btw, did you see my post that lists my new address? I'd like Adrian and you to have it!

What a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Now I want to go to Mallorca. And I am hungry.

You really should be paid for doing tourist promotion and food promotion

Thanks!

That sounds like a great idea: if only it were possible!

I knew you had gone to Mallorca because of Adrian's posts on Facebook. How wonderful. I am envious. I have been to the Island twice, once for a two week stay, and once on a cruise: I think it is a spectacular destination, and surprisingly relaxed as well as sophisticated. I've been to Soller, which is lovely, but have only stayed in Palma, which also is scenic and gracious, so seeing your photos brought back memories and introduced me to new locales too. Now, I totally want to go back, and to take Paul with me. I think he would like the island as it offers so much variety, as well as beautiful vistas and a great climate. Thanks for posting. I look forward to more mementos.

Yes I found it very relaxed too, and beautiful.
Perhaps a bit too crowded in some of the beauty spots, but that's inevitable these days.
I think Paul would love it too.
