Poppies and crowds

Yesterday we went to see the poppies at the Tower of London.
Over the last few months, volunteers have been placing ceramic poppies in the moat, one for each of the 888,246 British soldier who died in World War I.

It is certainly an impressive sight!

What an astonishing exhibit!! It's a bit overwhelming when you think what the poppies represent! I believe World War 1 was the bloodiest and most deadly in history. I can't wrap my head around that number of dead soldiers.

I am with Neil on the astonishment of all these poppies and what they represent. It's an amazing and solemn demonstration of the sacrifices so many made almost a century ago.

Having worked in corporate events in previous careers, I can't imagine the logistics, planning and implementation of placing all those flowers....
