Meanwhile in England

May 08, 2014 00:15

I haven't quite finished posting about our Tuscan holiday (we've been back over 5 weeks) and I have been neglecting talking about what we have been up to in London too.

We have been to a couple of exhibitions in the last few weeks: 'The Vikings' at the British Museum and 'Veronese' at the National Gallery.

I am in awe of all Adrian and you do together. I spend so much time alone and usually talk myself out of activities to which I am invited. This so makes me wish I knew you both in person. I would especially loved to have shared the two theater experiences with you.

Whenever, there's a meme asking who you would most like to meet and share a dinner with, I always answer Angela Lansbury!

I especially love the photo of Adrian and the queen. Their expressions are so similar:) we haven't seen any tulips yet. Those in our flower bed have just peeked through the dirt.

HUGS!

Well I wouldn't do as much, if I were on my own. I certainly wouldn't go to any social events!

I'm sure that Angela Lansbury at a dinner party would be great fun.

Thank you! I love that pic of Adrian with the queen too.

Hugs back.

Wow. You guys certainly lead a full and varied life. Is this why you don't post very often anymore? I am guessing you must find it difficult to find the time? In fact, how on earth do you find the time to work?!

Do you find the lives of others very dull? Is that why Adrian gave up on LJ?

Where are you off to next?

Well all of this was over a number of weeks, so plenty of time to work :-(

I don't know why I'm not posting as much as I used to. I think that the disillusionment with work has extended to other things.

The next trip is Sitges: same week as last year, hopefully this time without drama!

You two always make Europe look awesome- which, it is!

Thank you for sharing these photos and the narrative of your journeys together!

Love the Wisteria in bloom there!
Mine is blooming now, too!

I love Perudo, too, but have not played it in a billion years or so, LOL!

My goodness, you boys have been busy. What a newsy post! It must have taken you hours to upload all the pictures and write your commentary. That will teach you to leave your readers waiting for so long! Harummpf!

I have not been to Hastings, but now I want to go. How lovely. Of course, I wouldn't know half the people in the town, as you seem to, so my visit would be less of a reunion and more of a discovery tour. I'd certainly like to discover the Stade shingle beach: those wooden structures are amazing. I'd love to photograph them.

I feel the same way about parties as you do; in fact, I'm skipping one tonight and letting Paul give my apologies. My knee ailments provide a legitimate excuse--the only good thing about this dastardly condition, as you very weill know.

Inigo. Hmmmm. More pics please.

Hugs to you both.

I know, I'm just so lazy!
Sometimes it is days (if not weeks) even before I look at the pictures taken (I guess it's a bit like the old days when you had to wait to finish the film first).

I'm sure you'd make friends in Hastings!

How's your knee these days? I hope a bit better?

Hugs to you and Paul.

My knees are improving with physio. I can now walk for more than 10 minutes. The MRI revealed severe arthritis in my left knee and right hip, with moderate arthritis in my right knee. We presume that much of my "night pain" originate with that condition which, unfortunately, is a permanent. I'm hoping that I can avoid surgery on the torn meniscus, which feels possible at the moment.

Good to hear that your knees have improved a bit, and fingers crossed that you won't need surgery!
