While other lines have been modernised over the years - with super-fast trains now linking many cities around the peninsula, the line running along the Tyrrhenian coast is caught in a time warp ( Read more... )

Happy Anniversary. You are a unique couple, always traveling and exploring the cultures around you. It seems like you make a trip or two each month. I think that being able to do that...is great.

Thanks very much!
Sadly only day trips around town are that frequent: it was our first holiday in 6 months.

No, this was in southern Tuscany (but we went near there - Carrara - later in the week)

Lovely scenery! Outdoors and in!

Being an auto enthusiast, I'd love to travel (and drive) roads such as you show in the second picture..... alas, I live in the flatlands :(

And happiest of anniversaries to you both!

Thanks very much, Dan!

Yes, I guess a windy road offers more opportunities for views and is more engaging too.

Happy anniversary to you both! How lovely to spend it in such beautriful surroundings. The Tuscan countryside, as always, is very appealing (I really like photo #2, the green and violet one) and your b'n'b appears as charmaing as the host you describe. I'm sure you enjoyed returning there every evening and not having to move from place to place.
