Le Ville del Brenta

2 Saturdays ago - the last full day of our Italian holiday - was spent visiting some the villas on the Brenta "canal" (it is in fact a branch of the river but since it has locks and the water levels are maintained constant, it is considered a canal).

However, your photos reveal an exotic beauty on the canals, that those of us who have never been envy. I love the photo Adrian captured of the chandelier. I hope you smacked that Japanese woman with your crutches! :)

I think we're not used to sightseeing all day in a group. The cruise lasted 8 hours!
What we saw was rather lovely: we just didn't have enough time.

Always with the amazing images. Even if you would skip the trip again.
Cheers

I had not heard of the Brenta, or its locks. Given that I don't enjoy river cruising or watching locks do their thing, I am sure I will never know it in reality. The villas look wonderful, but, then, there are so many of them in Venice (and Italy!) that I could easy take a pass on these. The Murano chandelier that Adrian snuck a photo of is worth the indiscretion, I think. I love Adrian.

Yes I think there are better places to visit.
Although I'd love to go back to Villa Pisani.
