Spring!

Apr 17, 2013 23:14

The never-ending winter is (dare I say it?) finally over! Spring has arrived but everything is about 3 to 4 weeks late.

This evening I took some photos of the daffodils and the blossom in St. James's Park, on the way to Victoria.
One cannot feel gloomy when the sun's out and one is surrounded by all that bright yellow!

I have visited St. James Park many times, but I don't recall seeing the views you have pictured. For one thing, I don't recall the water being so extensive. Perhaps I was in the wrong part of the park? Anyway, your photos are lovely, and I thank you for posting them. I have always admired the green and white striped lawn chairs that adorn the park, and here they contrast beautifully with the frilly blossoms of the cherry trees et al. What a lovely "breathing space" in the centre of the city.

The bridge in the penultimate picture sits in the middle of the lake; I took the photo at the west end of the park, on the street opposite Buckingham Palace.

Thank you, Bob. Yes it is a lovely place to go for a stroll.
