The interior of the Chapel of the Holy Shroud looks amazing. When Paul and I visited Turin, I thought that we were inside, but maybe it is a different church the contains the shroud, or the shroud has been temporarily removed while the chapel is closed? I don't believe we saw the shroud itself, just a representation of it.
The chapel of Holy Shroud hasn't been opened since the fire in 1997 (and was already closed then because of undergoing restoration). Apparently the restoration has stopped because of a lack of funds! The shroud is still the in the Duomo but stored behind the main altar and it's only visible during the special 'ostensioni' every few years.
