When you are on your own in a freezing house, the best thing to do is to keep moving. And switch the oven on! lol

You lot and your cakes! This one's safe from me; cream cheese is against my religious beliefs.

I live where there is no snow, but grew up with it in the Midwest part of the U.S., so this makes me nostalgic. briefly. then I want to stay inside until it all melts, probably.

In the U.S., we never make sponge cake, I'm thinking, because I've not had it, to my knowledge. Must be a fancy British thing.

Thank you!

I know what you mean. Snow looks pretty but once you're done with it, it's nice to have warm weather!

Yup, must be why I settled in Northern California where it doesn't get very cold.
I just made something we call rice krispy bars (peanut butter, sugar, Karo syrup and rice krispies, with a topping of chocolate and butterscotch, to send to my dad, very rich, very easy. Not a faboo sponge cake, however :)

I love the photos...and you just about killed me with that cake. I haven't had cake in over 3 years and I am NOT kidding. (I can't find a gluten free bakery that doesn't charge $4 for a tiny cupcake...there is NO WAY IN FUCK I'm paying $8 for a slice of cake.)

FYI: Red swim goggles? They make you think you're swimming in grape coolaid. It's VERY cool. Very Willy Wonka. I'm glad the swimming is going well. I think it's pretty similar to learning to ride a bike: Once you get the hang of it, you're like: How did I ever think this was difficult?

Thank you!
And sorry about the lack of gluten-free cakes.

I think I'm going to stick to normal goggles for the time being... it's weird enough for me! lol
