Dinner and theatre

Feb 01, 2012 20:02

Last night we enjoyed a wonderful evening out on the town.

I met Adrian outside The Ivy restaurant which is (or perhaps was? I am not sure as I don't keep up!) one of 'the' places to dine and a celebrity haunt.
Of course celebrities do not dine on the pre-theatre menu and at 5:30 pm! LOL!

I was in New York when Masterclass was on Broadway with Betty Buckley if I'm not mistaken. But couldn't get tickets.

Then a few years ago I saw an incredible SWISS GERMAN production of it at a really small community at a village (more like a suburb) on the lake. All though this is really local theater they do absolutely top professional productions. Any way the play blew me away and our Callas was fantastic. I really fell for the play, bought the script and read it later. Partly, because well i don't understand everything Swiss German so I needed to fill in the parts I'd missed.

Would be really interesting to see Tyne Dayly in the role. Did she wear a black wig for the production?

Also I'd be beside myself to see Terrance McNally at a Q&A.

Fascinating that both Tyne Daly and Sharron Gless were on London stages within months of each other!

The meal looked lovely too ...

Well I guess it's kind of very easy in London with so much going on.
