lol. I go with C - even though it's heavy. Hope you get to the bottom of this strange occurrence!

But who would want to steal such a thing?

Well the size of it makes you wonder why someone would chose this particular item to steal. However, here in Australia we have often heard of people stealing garden gnomes and taking them on holidays with them, then sending postcards from the gnome to the owners. Or just stealing them and relocating them. So I am sure this sort of thing happens all around the world. Let's hope we hear the real story. :)

So THAT'S what a TOBY JUG is... I've seen them mentioned in M.C. Beaton's mysteries as antiques often sold at auction, but I had no idea and never got up the oomph to look. Very interesting.

Kind of delightfully tacky. Is it old?

Well this is a big one meant for a garden (there's room to place a pot inside) but I think that a normal Toby Jub is for drinking from it.

It looks old-ish!

How extraordinarily Edward Gorey-ish.

But certainly not as stylish as his illustrations!

I find it kind of ugly if you ask me. Are you going to keep it? Will you report it to the police?

I do agree with you!

Maybe we'll report it next week if no-one comes forward.
