For a fleeting moment I thought Severus might pledge loyalty to Harry for having freed him from Voldemort. Silly me. Full of bitterness and hatred. As if the real Lily would ever condone his actions. Sigh.

Yes, but I don't think Severus ever knew the real Lily. He clings to the one he invented out of his bitterness.
