Lucius really should understand Draco by now, and that tolerating Draco's "problems" only makes him more determined to express them. Because, obviously, if his parents really cared about what he was doing, they would have made some move to stop him before now.
I loved Draco here. Reading his thoughts and how he is no longer easily cowered is awesome. However, this ending was even more so. (This kiss burned more than the ones they had shared last night, more even than being allowed to touch Harry. Harry had touched him, and of his own free will.) So terribly adorable.
Draco isn't terribly mature in the sense that he likes to interfere and taunt people, but he's much more willing to stand his ground than his parents though. They mistook having his own way for frivolity.
