Yes, everyone winces away from Hugo because they keep remembering the times in their teenage lives when they discovered that certain people (like Dumbledore) weren't completely trustworthy or heroes. But Hugo is not a teenager fighting a war, which is a difference I think they forget.
What's that old saying, An ungrateful childs sting is sharper than a serpent's tooth, or something like that. These youngsters seem to be so nasty. Are they worthy of redemption?
