Yes, it is dangerous. But so is leaving the situation to decay further. So the best thing they can do is act, and hope that it's the right thing. Or so Draco will try to convince Harry.
Harry would take the risks and deal with the broken heart that resulted. If it turned out that Draco did something like betraying the other Gryffindors, then Harry would feel free to accept that his trust was misplaced and he didn't have to do anything like that in the future.
I'm starting to become increasingly worried now, for Harry, actually. It really seems like Draco could potentially use Harry's crush against him now, especially when he asked Harry if he'd give him the password. I don't know what he feels for him and it makes me so nervous. -laughs-
And this ritual just sounds all bad. But we'll see.
I'm getting rather worried. Harry seems to be taking risks and making things complicated; even Minerva has noticed.
a) Risk in letting Draco know a bit about his own feelings for him. How could that be abused? b) Planning to tell the password to Draco - similarly, though it could be useful in an emergency c) The ritual Draco is now doing, whether it will work. Harry doesn't have a clue what is involved d) All the things regarding Blaise - references to passwords, handing Draco over to him, making up stories of what Draco is planning to do, giving Parvati a clue that she is in a relationship with the wrong person. Does Harry have something against Blaise in particular? How might he react if he finds he's been set up? e) If the ritual works and Draco's friends' memories return then why is it all necessary?
a) Really, Harry isn't worried about that. If Draco does something to hurt him, he's convinced he can do something to handle it, and he trusts Draco enough to think that he wouldn't hurt anyone else, like his friends. (Draco has to know that would cost him every advantage that Harry's trust could possibly offer). b) He's not, really. That is just something he would do if Draco asked for it. c) Draco does explain it in the next chapter. And Harry is ready to intervene if it goes wrong. (He didn't really have a clue what Snape's ritual did, either). d) No, mostly Harry is annoyed that Blaise is stalking him/threatening him. And Blaise's reactions are all colored by the Memory Charm right now. I doubt he would have been that stupid to reveal he knew the password without it, for example. e) Why is what all necessary? At the moment, Harry and Draco's actions are constrained by the failed Memory Charm, and so Harry can't just let the threats of the other Slytherins go because Draco's ritual might work. There's the chance it won't.

Draco doesn't actually plan to ask for the password. It was just an example of something that he wanted to see if Harry would do for him.
