Draco is simply trying to find a way to express his want of attention from Harry that feels less childish to him than "Because he's never given it to me!"
I enjoyed the chapter and the characters, with the sole exception of Draco's conversation with Ron when Draco said that he wanted Harry's complete attention and thought that this was the way to achieve it. That was Draco being mature?
Being honest, rather. He wants Harry's attention, and thinks Harry would rather bestow it anywhere else. He's not really a nice person here, and he doesn't care about Adam or the children in the same way. That's something that would have to come later, when he has a reason to.
