Draco might have wanted to put caution ahead of his contemplating a bit more, considering that he does alienate Harry in the next chapter. On the other hand, a move like that did help Harry realize that at least his desires were shared.

Thanks. This story is claustrophobic, I think, and I wanted it to be- either that, or a safe space where, once a month, Harry can put aside some of the doubts that plague him.
