NIce explanation for Pansy and Russel's actions. It was so simple and logical, yet I never came up with it myself. I choose to blame your superior writing then my stupidity. XD
I really appreciate the revisiting of Draco's sadness of loosing his friendship with Pansy. Despite Blazing season, I hadn't beleived he would be fully uneffected. I thought when Harry couldn't look at Draco's wings when he was so wary spoke of how he still viewed draco's powers as.. well not a threat but work to avoid. I am glad the last incident did not "cure" Harry miraculously.
I am excited for next chapter but I am going away for a week camping (ie, no computer). I will miss your next chapter!!! I hope that shows how much I love your story that I mourn the loss of reading an update right away! T_T

Thank you! I didn't give very many clues, so I don't think you need to feel bad for not catching on.

Yes, Harry is still working on that. But he's got a better motive now than protecting Draco from hurt: he does care for him.

I hope you have a nice vacation.

Thank you! The sweetness is mixed with angst in the next few chapters, but Harry and Draco are trying their best.

I'm so busy being.... FRUSTRATED by Russell's greed, I'm not quite sure where to start. If it is QUITE obvious that Laurent is in Azkaban, you'd think he'd find a legal loophole to work with-- unless, of course, you mentioned earlier that he WASN'T sure that it was Laurent who was locked up, and I'm merely forgetting details.

And this bit here:
“You can’t speak as though pure-bloods were a single monolithic entity,” Russell said, apparently stung into speech.

“Why not? You do it with Muggleborns,” Harry murmured.

A thought that really did need to be expressed. If pure-blood families can be different-- The Gaunts vs. The Lovegoods vs. The Malfoys vs. The Weasleys, and so on and so forth, why can't Muggleborns? There is a clear difference between Dean Thomas, Harry and Hermione. Now granted, Harry wasn't Muggleborn, but Muggle raised-- if one can CALL that a raising.

Yeah.... I'm gonna jump down off my soapbox here; I just happened to find Harry's reasoning there to be incredibly rational and thought provoking.

In this case, the provision in the will that said Laurent could be disinherited was probably very specific. Therefore, it wouldn't help Russell to know Laurent was in Azkaban. He had to know the crime.

That's an interesting point, since you take it further than I did. Lots of fic does talk about Muggleborns as if they all want the same things.
