I love this chapter. Words cannot express how much I love this chapter. I think this has got to be my favorite Lucius and Narcissa, as well. The way they close around Harry with such solidarity, and such an, "of course, we'll stand with you, you're our son's chosen!" which is truly, truly wonderful!

I loved the Malfoys' reaction to Harry's revelation about the rape. Because they know about Veela, they realise what it means for Harry to allow himself to love Draco. It makes oddly sense, too, that the Malfoys would condemn a crime like rape inequivocally, because under Voldemort they themselves experienced what severe humiliation and death threats will do to a person's sense of self.
And I am thoroughly intrigued by Harry's realisation that because of Draco's Veela needs Harry as his chose has power over him. It makes for some equality between them, also it lets Harry know that not all power must be abusive.

Thank you!
I don't know that I trust the Malfoys to be that just, honestly. I can see them deciding that what happened to them matters but not to other people. For someone close to them, however, it's a different matter.
Harry is thrilled by the power, which somewhat confuses him, but he will learn to deal.
Oh, this is a giant step forward for Harry! And I'm so proud of the Malfoys, and never have I been so happy for their old Purebred customs and behaviour. Poor Russell du Michel is going to be going on one wild goose chase...

That's one reason I had Harry come up with the idea. I didn't want Draco contributing all the ideas.

I feel a little sorry for Russell. But only a little.
