The only excuse for Harry is his insanity. I'm hoping the bond and Draco will be able to heal him. For Harry's sake, but also for Draco's. Being immortal and bonded to someone with such extreme psychological problems would be horrible.
Harry's torturing the bird has moved him into the 'bad guy role' for me. Draco's the hero in this one, and I hope he can redeem and heal Harry.
I agree with nonajf. The bird that Harry sacrificed totally turned me away from him. Torture and cruelty to humans I can handle, but to an animal? I don't like it (although I don't mind the hunting in the werewolf story- maybe 'cause it's more 'natural and instinctive').
I hope Draco manages to stop it, but I also hope that interrupting the spell won't be very bad for Harry or Draco. Well, Draco keeps saying that he would burn for Harry. Maybe he'll die to save him. Wonder how that would effect Harry's psychology.
Harry will have to deal with the full consequences of what he's done here in a future chapter. The main focus of next chapter is about dragging Harry into a state where he's fit to think about redemption.
I know I'm probably supposed to relate to Draco in this fic, but I can't help pulling for Harry in every turn. Sure he's crazy and obsessive but he's very human and understandable. I get destroying what destroyed your life and I get keeping one's autonomy at any cost. Freedom isn't free and while I wish there was another way to break the long desired bond, Harry was thorough in his research. I want him to win and if the only way for Harry to do that is to destroy the bond then that's what I want.
I'd been on the fence about which character was doing the right thing and how I wanted to see this end, but the combination of Draco kissing Harry when it was clearly unwanted, unappreciated and uninvited and the information that vampires can't ever be truly loving or caring creatures makes me turn against the bond. Seems to me that over time no matter how much Harry struggles or fights the bond by nature will make him into a slave.
Well, at least from my perspective, it does go too far when Harry tries to sacrifice innocent life. Maybe he could order Draco to stay away from him for the rest of his life if Draco really would do anything for him. But hurting another living being in a Dark magic ritual suggests that he probably wouldn't stop at murder.
However, Draco's "love" is supposed to be disturbing.

Draco is trying not to go too far. He knows that Harry would never forgive him if he controlled one of Harry's friends too strictly.
And yes, there are some consequences.
