OR AN ANNOYANCE IN DISGUISE <3 mustlovetomato July 23 2009, 03:44:44 UTC
Antonio waved to his boss as he headed out of the Dos Llama's restaurant, just having gotten off work. Since he had come in to cover for someone else's lazy ass for work yesterday when he wasn't scheduled to so willingly, his boss had given him a shorter shift today in an attempt to make up for it. So instead of getting off at three as he normally would, he got off at noon. The spaniard headed out of the restaurant with a wide smile on his face, planning on heading back to his apartment to catch up on his classwork before his siesta.

His attention was caught, however, by a man that looked extremely out of place in this part of town. Antonio raised an eyebrow at the cravat, his eyes locking on it for longer than usual, as he had never before seen one in person in his life. He shook off his curiosity however and decided that he would strike up a conversation with the oddly man ( ... )

RODI'S CRAVAT IS MADE OF AWESOME! notaustralian July 23 2009, 04:27:36 UTC
Roderich sighed and adjusted his glasses. He glanced behind him and briefly looked at a man coming out of the restaurant. But it didn't interest him. He turned his eyes back to the street sign and stepped toward the edge. He peeked, as if it would help him find his way.

Really, 28 years old and he still couldn't tell left from right.

He pressed his fingers over his lips and frowned when the man from the restaurant approached him. He was well-mannered, but it didn't mean he liked chatting up with strangers on the street, especially when he was lost.

Roderich eyed the man - who had called him señor. He didn't like that, as in no way did he look he would speak Spanish. He gave the man a quick look and sighed. He guessed he had no choice.

"Yes," he said politely, lowering his head, "I seem to have lost my way. Are you familiar with a beer garden around here?"

He glanced at the man, somehow feeling they had met before.

PFFT YOU WISH mustlovetomato July 23 2009, 04:40:25 UTC
To Antonio's credit his smile didn't even waver when the man had seemed like he didn't want to deal with him. Though he had to admit that at least the man had been polite. Antonio shifted his weight from one leg to the next as he nodded, confirming that he did in fact know the beer garden area. After all, he had lived here for a while now and had explored fully, getting lost multiple times but eventually figuring it out.

"Of course! Where exactly do you need to go?" Antonio asked politely, having none of the sense of familiarity that Roderich was feeling. After all, his memory wasn't that great to begin with. Let alone with something that had happened a long time ago. Suddenly, the Spaniard realized that he should probably introduce himself.

"Oh! My names Antonio by the way" He said, smiling widely again and holding out his hand to shake Roderich's politely.

YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS! D: notaustralian July 23 2009, 04:52:10 UTC
Roderich was thankful that the man didn't turn out to be some creep or a bum. He didn't mean to look down on people, but he knew he was often targeted because of his wealthy appearance.

To the question, he answered, "I am hoping to catch lunch there." He didn't trust people easily and didn't want to disclose more information than he needed.

"Thank you for your help, Antonio," he muttered to himself, extending his hand for a shake. "Roderich Edelstein."

He narrowed his eyes and gazed at the kind man. Lately, he had been feeling like he kept running into people from his past.

"Antonio," he repeated with a tilt of his head. It was a bold guess but it was worth a try. "Carriedo...?"

HOW DID YOU KNOW?! D: mustlovetomato July 23 2009, 05:02:41 UTC
Antonio nodded and motioned for Roderich to fallow him down the street and then to the left to cross it at the clearly marked crosswalk. The road was busy enough that if they tried to j-walk they would have probably been run down and that wasn't on this particular spaniards list of things to do today. When he caught Roderich asking about his last name he turned to look at the man he was leading around town.

"Si, that's my last name. But how'd you..." And finally something sparked in Antonio's brain. His younger sister had been engaged to some austrian man or was it australian? but they had never actually been married. It had been a long time ago and Antonio had only actually seen the man once or twice before so that would explain why he didn't remember his face but if he thought about it hard enough the last name did seem familiar.

"Have you ever been to Spain before?" Antonio asked, his eyebrow's raised in curiosity. He hooked one of his thumbs in his belt loops on his pants as he walked an even and slightly lazy pace.

YOUR MOM! mustlovetomato July 23 2009, 06:48:25 UTC
That was it, Antonio couldn't hold a grudge any longer. The willingness to make it up to his sister was the straw that broke the resolve of said grudge. All he had to go on were faint memories of the past so his own mind had made up the idea that the man who had broken his sisters heart was some stuck up jerk who hadn't cared about his family. Now that he was actually face to face with the man he couldn't help but give in and want to make everything right.

"No, I think that she's gone through enough already" He said with a small nod, managing to bring up a small smile as he met Roderich's eyes.

"Though if it makes you feel any better I'm willing to give you a second chance. To be friends. And if the chance ever comes up I can see what I can do" Antonio said, his grin growing slightly as he relaxed his posture slightly. That was one of the failures of his personality, he forgave people way to easily.

YOUR MOM WANTS MY BABIES! notaustralian July 23 2009, 07:00:55 UTC
"Please accept my apology and extend my regards to her," Roderich said in response.

He looked up and eyed the shops around them. They must be close to the beer garden by now. He turned over to Antonio and stared intently as the Spaniard spoke. A brief smile crept up his lips; he was... touched, to say the least. People didn't usually want to befriend him so easily.

"I'd like to take that second chance," he said, pushing up his glasses. "I can prove myself. What happened in the past was my parents' will. I am not them."

Antonio nodded and placed a hand on Roderich's shoulder briefly. Flashing his signature smile once more.

"Bueno! I'm glad to hear that" He said as he removed his hand and turned away from Roderich to lead him the rest of the way to the Beer Garden. Antonio smiled like an idiot the entire way, glad to have been able to clear the air between himself and the Austrian, at least for now. Within five minutes they arrived outside the store front to the store and Antonio stopped to turn back to Roderich.

"It was very nice to meet you!" Antonio said with another smile. "If you ever need me I can give you my cell phone number so you can keep in touch" The spaniard offered, slipping his hands into his back pockets and shifting his weight to one leg again.

MY FACE IS FABULOUS~! notaustralian July 23 2009, 07:18:11 UTC
Roderich nodded and followed close behind the Spaniard. He smiled briefly at the hand on his shoulder. Not quite used to being touch so casually, he did tense up a bit. But he knew Antonio didn't mean any harm.

He looked up at the sign outside the beer garden. He scanned inside, trying to spot Quirin but with no luck. He looked to Antonio and gave a gracious nod.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well," he said, extending his hand out again. "Ah, a phone number would be helpful, if you don't mind, of course."

He took out his phone and readied it to take down Antonio's number. Before that, he gave Antonio his own phone number. It was definitely to know someone in town.
