Who: Willem, Heracles, and Kiku When: Friday July 15th, late evening Where: Liberty’s Retirement Home What: With all else fails, it becomes time for drastic measures.
Kiku still clung tightly to Willem's neck, heart hammering from the excitement of the run and the fear of being caught even as they slowed down. Somewhere in the running he had lost one of his slippers.
Willem nodded, lowering Kiku to the ground. Pulling out his phone, he sent a text to the phone number Heracles had given him, telling him they were out. Then he turned to look his boyfriend over.
He still felt shaken, but he was free. Willem had not abandoned him. And after what was high on the list of the worst days of his life, he was more willing to express affection than usual. Stepping closer to the taller man, he shyly wrapped his arms around his waist.
Tired, he let his head rest against Willem's chest for just a moment before stepping back to regain proper personal boundaries. They were still in the open, and waiting for Heracles, and safety had not yet been guaranteed.
Heracles stepped out from a side street a bit ahead from Willem and Kiku, the searching look on his face clearing up as he saw them. He took quick steps to close the short distance between them, smiling widely.
His hair looked a bit more ruffled than usual, and his skin was slightly flushed, thought it might have just been from running.
"Kiku! You got away!" Heracles enthused, holding out the bag that had been hanging off his shoulder. "I heard the alarm too. Talked to the search party about to head after you and gave them a wrong name and adress to follow, ought to take them a while to figure it out," he informed them matter of factly, as if this was something he did every day. Granted, he'd explained himself and others out of bigger trouble in the past, so in a way it almost was.
Heracles gave Kiku a frank look up and down.
"Huh, that's really not the best look for you, no offence... should have brought you some clothes. Might have a change of mine in the car, though they might be a bit too big..." he pondered aloud.
He tensed when the figure stepped out of the shadows, pulling Kiku a bit behind him. He relaxed once he realized who it was.
"That was good thinking," he praised, then nodded in the direction of the bus station. "Our first priority is to get to the bus station and away from here."

"I wouldn't have left you there," he said with finality.

He was not sure how these two had met, or under what circumstances, but he was very glad that they had not left him there.
"Thank you both...very much."
