Heracles visibly perked up at his offer being accepted at last. He grinned widely at first, but then reminded himself not to act like a love struck little girl in front of this man. Not that he was ashamed to admit he had something of a crush, but showing it hadn't exactly impressed Honda in the past.
With that in mind, he schooled his expression more serious despite his giddy feelings of glee, sharpening his posture up to be more ready for battle.
He and Honda just looked at each other a moment, gauging who would take a the first move, before Heracles made a sharp movement, a feint which earned him a slight twitch from Kiku. Heracles smiled at him teasingly. "Fooled you," he said cheerfully, right before actually making his first strike, only using the metal staff so far, knowing Honda would probably parry the strike aimed at his head, but wanting to test his strenght in person.
Kiku did parry it easily, barely changing form. Then with a sudden spurt, he twisted his body, arms swerving the blade in a shot at the side left open from the upwards strike. He did not pour a lot of power into the swing, still testing his opponent's strength to understand how seriously he would need to take this battle.
Heracles' eyes narrowed in concentration. He could tell Honda was also still testing his strenght, and hardly using any of his own yet. However, just from that Heracles could tell he was indeed as strong as he'd looked in more serious battle. In those occasions, he'd also seen that Honda didn't tend to play around, disposing of his enemies quickly and efficiently.
