Who: Kai, Valdi, Willem Where: A gift stall in the marketplace of Libertās When: Monday 20th,, 1pm What: Valdi unintentionally finds himself a stalker makes a friend
"HI," Kai suddenly was upon him with little left to the imagination as far as the boundaries of personal space. His smile was wide and cheerful, shoulders shrugged upwards of his ears and head dodged to the left just slightly, looking almost like an eager puppy. He was never short on visitors -- even if they were regular faces, such as Manny dropping by in the evenings, or Willem on his routine weekly jaunts to this side of town. But it was new faces as well as the old who put a bright spot on his day and gave him something to take new excitement in.
"Did you need help with anything? All the little figurines are fairly inexpensive. I'd be willing to bargain with you." He prattled on a mile a minute to the younger teen, then took a few steps back and opened an arm to the rest of his shop. "Take a look around, but be careful. I'm working on a project in the back so sparks are flyin' 'round."
He looked up at the smiling face beside him and blinked. Valdi wasn't used to others smiling at him with not a care in the world. "It's okay, " He frowned and put the dragon back down in it's rightful spot, brushing his hands off against his thighs and glancing back around the shop. There was no way he could steal from a face like that.
"I probably couldn't afford it anyway. I might just look around--" He wandered further into the stall, taking small, deliberate steps as his eyes took in all of the tiny, hand-made detail. A thought occurred to him and Valdi quickly added on, "--in case there's something to save up for."
"A-Ah, really?" he didn't want to jump to conclusions, but the boy didn't appear to be.. .. entirely well off. Though it was terrible for him to assume things. Who knew? Maybe the guy just enjoyed the efforts of shabby chic. Maybe he was a homebody with an eye for dirtied cloths with rips and snags and..
As Valdi stepped away from the shelf he picked up the small dragon he had admired moments earlier, biting his lip as he considered. "How about this--" he started to the turned back, poised in a shrug already. "-- You can have it now and pay me back later, yeah? Doesn't have to be any time soon. I can always make another one. Or-- Or I can make one for you right fast or something!"
God dammit Kai stop being so adorable.puffin_magicJune 21 2011, 02:08:08 UTC
What!? Valdi spun around again, confusion manifesting itself behind his eyes and spreading to engulf his whole body. Without realising he began to fidget, rubbing his hands uncomfortably against each other as he tried to figure out what the shopkeeper had really meant. Surely he hadn't just offered to give something away. Surely there was some sort of catch, a trick; maybe he would demand interest or a favor in return.
He spoke without thinking, a soft murmur that was directed more to himself than to Kai. "Why are you offering this to me?"

He didn't want to be kicked out for loitering.
