Kiku was struck with the odd sensation that he was actually nervous to eat with Willem tonight. He spent a long while carefully chosing his outfit, debating on the formality of the occasion. He had finally settled on a nice shirt and slacks. No tie.
It wasn't as if Willem hadn't seen him in everything from pajamas to a maid dress, but the part of his brain that was wired to think like a teenage girl told him that the first date was an important one, even if they had been close friends for six years.
Now, as he neared the entrance to the Vargas Pizzeria, he spotted the familiar form of his date and tried to quell the nervous butterflies in his stomach. He looked very nice tonight. Kiku hoped he hadn't been waiting long.
"Good evening," he greeted simply.
Kiku sort of hoped Feliciano wasn't working tonight.
Willem turned at the sound of Kiku's voice, his lips turning up into a soft smile. He admired the way the other man filled out the clothes he'd chosen for tonight, glad he'd chosen to pair his best jeans with a button down, dress boots, and a blazer. It'd felt odd, dressing up to go meet Kiku to eat, but if the way the other man was looking at him he'd made the right choice.
"To you as well," he replied. He started to lean in to kiss the other man, just because he liked doing so, but before he got to far he remembered that Kiku probably wouldn't be too happy about public displays and stopped himself.
It was surprising, the amount of relief and dismay Kiku felt when Willem deviated from what seemed like a plan to kiss him in greeting. But it had been a good choice...they were in public, after all.
Holding the door open, he tried his hand at changing the subject before things became too awkward.
"Have you been here before? One of the owners is responsible for at least a third of the maid uniforms in the cafe."
Aside from enjoying the uniforms on principle, he probably would have never noticed the other man had wonderful legs if he hadn't had the skirt to distract him from the fact that those were Kiku's legs he was looking at.
He wondered idly if Kiku could be convinced to wear the uniform for him as they found themselves a table.
"And no, but Chloé knows one of the owners. I wonder if it's the same one."

"Shall we go in?" he asked instead.
