Well, maybe a little nervous, but mostly excited. She was moving out of her awful apartment, and getting a roommate! It was like a two-in-one bonus.
Of course, Remy was the person who had said that they should meet before she just packed up her stuff and marched over. Probably a smarter idea than hers, since they had never met before... But she was sure it would be fine. Remy seemed like a nice enough person over the internet, after all..
And so that's how she found herself walking up to the house-- this was the house, right? She had written down the address and this was what it said, but it would be really awkward if it was someone else's house-- before knocking on it a few times and waiting.
Both pets' ears perked up at the knock, and Remy checked the house one last time before she headed for the door, taking one last deep breath before she pulled it open, getting her first real look at the girl she might end up living with.
Definitely not Kim. That was the first - and the least helpful - thing her mind supplied. The tall, blue-eyed blonde was about as far from resembling Kim as a person could get.
But then... She didn't have any weapons, and she wasn't covered in blood, so probably not a psychotic killer. Definitely a check in the positive column.
Remy smiled, greeting her politely and introducing herself. "Come on in."
Chloe smiled back as they exchanged introductions, before entering the house.
The first thing she noticed was the dog, watching her closely. She smiled widely, resisting the urge to coo and reach down to scratch behind it's ears.
"Hudson, right?" she asked, motioning towards the dog. "You have a cat too, right?"
Chloe looked around, admiring her surroundings. It was a nice house, much nicer than where she was living currently. It had a nice, homey feel to it.
"This is a nice place you have." she commented, speaking truthfully.
"That's right." Remy's smile was just as big as Chloe's. The dog was a fantastic icebreaker, not to mention one of her best buddies. He was well-trained enough not to tackle Chloe as she came through the door, but she could tell by the way he was staring at her and the slow thump of his tail that he was just waiting for the right moment to come closer to sniff her and beg for a few pets. As for the cat... "Yeah, Kisa's probably hiding in a laundry basket or something." Cats were always the crazy, embarrassing member of the family, anyway.
"Uh... Thanks..." She always felt sort of awkward when people thought the house was really hers. Kim's friend bought it, but... then he and Kim both left, and she was stuck wondering what to do. She just hoped having Chloe here would make things less bizarre.
