Berwald had brought the few things he felt he would need for an extended visit to Sindre and Valdi's apartment already on the previous day, so he wouldn't have to Sindre alone unnecessarily. He'd initially worried what to do with the store but... as much as Marcello's sudden disappearance worried him, at least that took that problem out of the equation ( ... )

Ah, right..." Berwald mumbled resignedly. He wanted to ask whether Sindre was sure he should use his grandmother's remedies. What if they reacted badly with whatever the doctors had given? But Sindre might take that badly...

Oh well, he would just keep an eye on him, and if the... what had he called it, soak, had any detrimental effects, then he'd try to convince Sindre to stop. Hopefully that would be enough caution ( ... )

Sindre nodded into Berwald's shoulder, shifting closer to him. He didn't have the energy to care for much beyond not falling. That would hurt beyond what he cared to consider.

"'m not going to pass out," he told him, almost indignant. "It's only twenty minutes. 's not that long."

He eyed the tub with the edge of pain that was creeping in through the pills in mind. "It might be better if the water's cooler to start, though," he admitted grudgingly.

Berwald just nodded, keeping any further protests silent. He got up again to turn the water all the way to cold, since the tub was almost full already. After that, it was only a few moments before he turned off the water completely, and then got up and carried Sindre back to the kitchen to get both the chair and the medicine left on the table ( ... )

Sindre shivered as Berwald's fingers ghosted over his skin. It wasn't sexual, not really, but he still enjoyed the feel of the fingers.

He put up no fuss as he was carefully undressed, the slight touches more than making up for the minimal indignity. When Berwald's hands reached for his boxers, however, Sindre lay a hand over his to stop him. "Help me stand," he said instead, not giving Berwald a chance to respond as he used his shoulder to lever himself to his feet. Once he got his balance, Sindre slowly tugged his boxers down.

Berwald had managed to bury any inapproriate feelings so well he was hardly thinking at all about what he was doing beyond a purely clinical manner, but Sindre's request broke that particular trance.

"Of course," Berwald replied stiffly, helping Sindre stand up and then looking into another direction from him, his ears burning. That worked excellently until he actually had to help him into the bath (he'd already removed the bandages while undressing Sindre). Not looking at him and making sure he didn't bump painfully with the edges of the tub weren't really compatible.

Berwald told himself to stop being ridiculous, he'd shared a shower with Sindre when they were younger, even if it had been rather awkward back then too... more so, actually, since Sindre hadn't had burns all over him and Berwald had been fifteen... ok best not to recall those times, in fact. But the point was, it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before and he had to do this.

Sindre's grip on Berwald didn't ease until he had lowered himself into the tub. He sucked in a breath from both the feel of heat on his burn and the tell-tale tingle of pain signifying that Bestemor's remedy was indeed working.

Eventually the pain eased into something more manageable, and Sindre dared to relax a bit into the water. Glancing up, he saw that Berwald's ears were still red. He frowned at that.

"You don't have to stay if you're uncomfortable," he told Berwald. "'m not going to drown."

"I'm fine. Don't have 'nything else t' do," Berwald replied, knowing it was a weak excuse, but in this case he just didn't dare take Sindre's word for it.

Instead he sat on the floor a bit further away from the tub, far enough there was less danger from splashes of water but close enough he'd see if Sindre needed help from the corner of his eye, since he wasn't going to stare at him or anything.

After a moment's silence, though, something occurred to him.

"After... if ya'd like t' just wash up, need 'ny help with your hair, maybe?" he asked, trying to sound as casual as possible.

"That'd be nice," Sindre replied, smiling up at him. "It'd be nice to feel clean again. Never seems to...never really feel clean in a hospital."

He closed his eyes, trying to enjoy the water while pushing away the edge of pain. He did feel bad that Berwald had to stay, but if he wanted to, Sindre wouldn't make hiim leave.

A thought occurred to him. "Would'ja wanna read?" he asked. "'s less dull for you, and I wouldn't mind hearing more."

"Yeah, remember that," Berwald said quietly, thinking about his own lengthy stay at a hospital after he was run over by a car. That was why he'd suggested it, actually.

The book sounded like a good idea too... except he'd have to leave Sindre alone. Berwald gave him an anxious, piercing glance, making sure Sinde didn't seem close to collapsing, before nodding to himself and going to get the book from the bag of things Sindre had brought back from the hospital. Luckily it was almost at the top of the bag, so he didn't have to spend long looking for it before returning swiftly to the bathroom.
