Feliks wasn't really sure what he was doing. Which wasn't a new feeling for him so rethinking his actions didn't even cross his mind. He had found himself with a zippo, discovered that zippos were little boxes that made little fires, and all of that had just so happened before then finding himself in The Hippie Store that day

The frantic shouts drew his attention up from his studies and out into the smoke clouded storefront, instinctively drawing an arm up to his face to protect himself from the smog that was fast building. Every muscle in his body was wrought tense as his eyes widen, the flames licking up and about to devour the wooden architecture, the books, the chemical jars and magic potions that would undoubtedly lead to something far worse.
He squinted to see through the smoke screen and came across the two figures in amongst the flames, the world fading to grey as a unparallelled terror flooded him deftly.
"Feliks! Sindre!" He shouted from where he stood, muffled by the crook of his arm. "Feliks, get the fuck back from there!" Driven by adrenaline Kai surged forward towards the source of the flames, dead on to get the blonde man to safety and to try with no avail to reach his fallen brother.
Sindre tried to keep his breathing to a minimum, pulling a hand back within reach of the fire to cover his nose and mouth with his sleeve. "Kai!" he called out. "Don't come too close!"
Glancing up toward the ceiling, he cursed under his breath. Of course Madame Maime wouldn't keep the building up to code. Why would she waste time and money on fire preventions when they could help someone?
He tried to motion toward the door with his free hand. "Get out and call for help!"
Feliks' head swung up as he tried to search for the new voice. He rubbed at his eyes, to no help it seemed to just make that issue even worse. He couldn't even tell who was yelling at him now they just appeared as a blur. He blinked up at the person.
"Huh? Get away?" he swatted at the smoke, "But, what about-..."
He coughed. This smoke needed to calm down, it wasn't even letting him get a sentence out!

[Jumping ahead to 7pm at whatever hospital he ends up at because i like to make life difficult.]

Kai had messaged him as soon as they were safe from the fire, and he'd gotten to the hospital as quickly as evening public transport permitted. Even with what information his boyfriend had given him, Valdi could not and would not relax until he got to the hospital and saw with his own eyes that Sindre was...relatively okay. Alive.
The bus ride over had been bad enough; a group of chatty schools kids planning to go out on a Tuesday night, and amazingly bad traffic. Time seemed to go on forever, and the longer it took the further his imagination gave way to possibilities. Perhaps his brother was really worse off than Kai had implied. Not to mention the Dane had almost been working. Was he okay? Was either of them really okay?
Subconsciously Valdi fiddled with the apartment key still in his hands, watching as the stop numbers drifted by in vain hope that they would hurry the fuck up.The moment the doors opened outside the Hospital he

Sindre had been content to float in his drug-induced haze, feeling pain but oddly detached from it, as if he were feeling it through a pane of glass. It was nice, he decided. Better than before, when it was all hotpainburning.
A voice punctured the haze surrounding him, though, and without a thought he struggled toward it. Valdi. Valdi was here.
Blinking his eyes open, Sindre strove to bring the room into focus. He couldn't remember his eyelids being that heavy before. His vision cleared, mostly, and he was finally able to bring Valdi into focus.
"Hei..." he mumbled, words slurring a bit. He tried to lift his hand out toward him, but found it bandaged and tugging on an IV. Setting it down reluctantly, he blinked back up at his brother.

"Hah. You're asking me that?" Well, he had calmed down enough to manage sarcasm, so that was a good start.
Valdi understood his brother's attempted motion and moved to settle in the plastic chair beside his bed. A moment's silence followed as he let the gravity of the situation sink in.
"You can go back to sleep, you know. I don't mind." He was simply happy just to be there, rather than at home, not knowing if or when things would get better (or worse).

"But..." he trailed off, trying to find the words. He started drifting as he searched, almost drifting completely away, but once he realized that he was slipping out he fought back up. "But you're here," he finished, slurring getting stronger.
Glancing around the room, Sindre tried to frown when he saw no one else. "Alone?" he asked. Valdi shouldn't be here alone. Shouldn't have to do this alone. Sindre should be there, taking care of him. But he was in bed and causing the problems.
He wasn't doing a good job at all.
He tried to focus enough to sit, to take in how bad off he was. But when he failed to summon even that much energy, he sank back into the bed, defeated. "How bad?"
Would like to attend~talks_to_nisseMay 17 2011, 04:17:59 UTC
Sindre hadn't quite fallen back to sleep after Valdi arrived. The medication was starting to wear off, and while it was nowhere near bad enough to necessitate more, the edge was preventing him from falling into complete slumber.
"Kai...?" Sindre asked, not opening his eyes yet. He tilted his head toward where Valdi sat. "Need 't use small voices. 's sleeping."

"Anyone else you know got a high pitched squeaky Danish accent?" He joked, trying to pull a smile to his face to no avail. "And you know I'm not capable of using an indoor voice. I guess I can try, though; for you and Valdi."
Kai paused, then with cautious steps moved forward to stand directly beside Sindre where he lay, placing the flowers down on the beside with him. "Wasn't sure what kind of flowers you liked, but.. figured everyone likes carnations. They're frilly, and kinda happy lookin'."
Sindre forced his eyes open at the mention of the flowers, wincing a bit at the sudden influx of light. Blinking until the flowers came into focus, he tried to force a smile. "Takk, Kai."
Glancing at Valdi's sleeping form, Sindre asked, "Keep an eye on him?"
Sometime between 8 and 9 pm [also whoa this got long I'D] part 1:oxenstierna_bMay 17 2011, 11:36:04 UTC
Berwald had still been cleaning up at the store when he got the call. He liked to spend as much time as possible there, and usually, with the store so newly opened, there was something that needed cleaning or fixing. Heck, if nothing else there was always paperwork to work on if all else failed.
After the call his memories got a bit fuzzy. He'd told Marcello he was borrowing the van, and in hindsight could only hope he'd actually given some explanation and not been very rude about it, because he had no idea. On the way over, the police pulled him over because apparently his driving was visibly reckless. Berwald's behaviour didn't exactly endear him to the policewoman, but since there was no alcohol in his blood in the end she just told him to calm down, and to try to get some sleep as soon as possible

Once the nausea passed, he got up on shaky legs and went to wash his face and mouth, avoiding his face in the mirror. It would look bad, he knew that much already. He ended up glancing that way anyway, and winced at the ghostly vision there. With him so pale, the rings under his eyes that had alreadu been there looked like bruises. And he knew he was never pretty but now... it was like all his features had grown sharper, more rough. Berwald looked away from the mirror and down to his hands he was still washing, and realized they were shaking. He pulled them to his chest from under the cold water and shivered. It wasn't just his hands that felt cold either

Despite everything, the fact Sindre did seem genuinely glad to see him eased something in Berwald, if not entirely.
"Good," Berwald managed to say, accompanied by a stiff nod. "Ya shouldn't talk 'f it hurts," he added almost sternly, noting how rough Sindre's voice sounded. And Berwald might not be no expert, but if Sindre had been burned he'd probably inhaled some smoke too, which couldn't have done anything good to his throat.
