Who: Kai and My Linh
When: Sunday, May 8th, later in the evening
Where: A grocery store near you
What: Twinks are not twinkies, but neither of them are quite sure what a twinkie even is. Thus begins a valiant quest on which there is much getting lost, roommate bonding, and the realization that twinkies are not the breakfast of champions.

I know! I'll go to the convenience store! )

it's super effective!, you have some 'splainin' to do, status: incomplete, twinkies: the breakfast of champions, he means well, getting to knooooow you, we're not in kansas anymore, fristaden christiania, heart's in the right place, i solemnly swear i am up to no good, food time, this is normal shit, oh god it's dark outside, vietnam

My Linh could tell that they were lost when they walked by the same bakery for the fifth time in the last half hour. Still, it would be impolite to question Kai's sense of direction, so she said nothing and maintained a upbeat and cheery demeanour.

The people at that corner cafe was probably staring at them as they walk on by, fourth time now.

And she waited patiently until Kai gave in and asked her for directions.

"I do have," she responded, with a small nod. Pulling out her iPhone, she tapped on its screen a couple of times before asking, "so what is address for the grocery store that we are going to, mmn?" It looks like they managed to wander as far as Gallery Square, much farther than the boundaries of Vichy Plaza...

"Ahh, lookin' somethin' like 1547 West Farragut Street.." Kai murmured as he thought, taking a precautionary glance up to the signs and sites all about them. "If the gods of the internet on your phone can't direct us, then maybe we could pop in one of these here shops and ask, yeah? Kinda gettin' a bit hungry."

But no, that is what the twinkies were for. And for the moment the notion of eating a cream-filled snack cake from a box was the most exciting idea his boyish heart could imagine. He bit his tongue to refrain from entertaining the thought, and instead sided with the notion of maybe just picking up coffee if they did indeed ask for help.

"Fuck, I really need to learn my way 'round here. I got downtown pretty good 'cause of school, and the area 'round my other two jobs, but.." He cocked his head to the side to study the sights and scenery with a soft hum, chewing his lip piercing idly as he did so.

My Linh hummed, tapping on their destination address. "15...47... West Farra--how do you spelling--" oh nevermind, she'll let her phone autocorrect it and then let Google tell her what the actual spelling of the street is. "Going to Fair-rah-got street." And starting location, current location.

35 minute walk. Gosh, how far did they end up walking?

"Phone found address, and it say that it should be about half hour walking mm!" she nodded, relaying the information that Google Maps gave her. After a momentary pause, My Linh added, "... And do not feeling too bad about getting lost, nha. It okay, I should learn my way around too. I always rely on map because I feel like American streets look very similar to everywhere else around here."

"Ha-- Half an hour!?" Kai balked with brows arched high, incredulous that they had strayed so far off the beaten path. "Whoa, how in the hell did we manage to get in these neck of the woods ( ... )
