Chai languidly ate his food. Late in the afternoon the atmosphere within the Dos Llamas was one of tranquility which demanded no sense of urgency. Warm brilliant rays penetrated through from the cold outside, pooling onto the restaurant tables and floor. The soft murmurs accompanied by the tasteful soft guitar strumming played by the speakers detached the place from time. In here, passing seconds were of no importance.

Just as well that good food was best savored slowly. From his first impressions, the food here was brilliant. Today he decided to try a new dish that was recommended. It was chile relleno as he was told by the waiter. He had ordered it to be made extra-spicy any way possible, earning him incredulous looks from the waiters and waitresses in the vicinity before they asked in a baffled voice if he was sure about that. Absolutely positive. He was sure he was sure ( ... )

The pain was subsiding the more she rubbed at the hurt but the sudden frustration had yet to fade. And the sudden sound of snickering did nothing to curb Emi's growing foul mood.

Head snapping to the side, her dark eyes focused in on the nearby man from before. Except now, instead of enjoying his food quietly like he had been earlier, he was now laughing. And, if Emi guessed correctly, the laughter had come directly after her elbow made impact with the table.

Which only meant that that baboso was laughing at her.

"¿De qué te ríes, pendejo?" She hissed, body turning from her chair in order to glare at the man.

ไอ้เหีย the woman must have noticed. She seemed to be angry though, for some reason. Angry enough to rise out of her chair and practically shoot daggers from her eyes at him. Chai nearly choked on his food when he heard her voice and immediately looked away. His heart pounded. She wasn't talking to him was she?

He wasn't even sure what she was saying. Putting down his cutlery, he nervously shifted in his seat. Chai tried to drink the glass of water in an unaffected manner. Perhaps she was just asking a question to a fellow worker.

Glancing around he realized that they were very much alone in this part of the restaurant. So the comment was probably directed at him. Turning slowly to face her, he laughed nervously. Perhaps a smile would work? He smiled. A compliment, perhaps, would smooth things over.

"T-The food is very good here?-"

The new laugh, the smile, and the sudden avoidance of topic irked her more than his earlier laughter had.

Emi had to refrain from gritting her teeth in frustration as her arms came up to fold across her chest. "Don't change the subject on me, baboso." Right now, she was beyond caring about proper work etiquette and the ethics involved in harassing customers. But Dos Llamas always made her feel like this, so in all honesty, it was only a matter of time before some poor fool managed to annoy her enough to make her snap - even the slightest bit.

"Why the fuck were you laughing at me? People getting hurt isn't funny, you asshole," Emi grounded out, her glare unwavering.
