One more paper to go.
Maybe asking to go in to work late was a good idea after all.
Carefully slipping the now graded paper back into her bag, Emi moved to start the last essay after taking a quick sip of her now rapidly cooling coffee. However, upon hearing her name, she paused, confused as she lifted her head to lock gazes with...a woman she didn't know.
"I'm sorry," Emi started, setting her red pen down as she stared at the woman in bewilderment. "But...I'm sorry if this is rude, but do I know you...?"

"Nafretiri Hassan. I know your grandfather, we met at some ruins when I was younger." Such a nice man, she'd been surprised that they had kept in contact for so long, though her digs had kept her from visiting for many, many years.

Though, she did remember something about her abuelo having some sort of... pen pal, was it?
Emi bit her lip, head tilted to the side. "Were you...were you the woman he gave tours of Teotihuacan and Teopanzolco to? I...what are you doing in Liberty? I mean...you and my grandfather still keep in touch?" Emi blurted out in surprise before flushing sheepishly.

"Yes. I was studying for my degree and took a trip down that way for the field experience. Your grandfather was kind enough to give me a tour and tell me the history." Such beautiful places too, maybe one day she would take another vacation down, since she had a break from field work as it was. "I am here because the Natural History Museum of Liberty offered to host my collection of Egyptian findings."
She took a moment to sip at her coffee, letting her have a moment to collect her thoughts. "Of course we do. I haven't gotten a letter for a while, probably because of the move, but we've been writing ever since I left Mexico. And sharing pictures of course. You were quite the adorable girl growing up, Emiliana. I wish I could have visited more."
