It took three shots of espresso that morning to breathe motivation into each footstep. Two more to walk out the door that morning, and a stop at Starbucks between his second and third client to properly understand Mr. Kawamura when the man buried his face into one of Ivan's throw pillows. The apartment always smelled like coffee, as Ion took extra care to rise twenty minutes before his "bed partner" and prepare it. When he though he passed Alfred on the way to work, however, he dismissed it for caffeine deprivation and proceeded to another helping of anti-sleep medication upon reaching his office.

When he saw the name Rory on his schedule, he could not dismiss it as an illusion as he'd done with Alfred. He could not dismiss that red hair, those eyes, that expression, that face... he'd seen her, quite literally, in his dreams every night for the past three weeks, but somehow seeing her in person made it shocking. She was not covered in blood, grime, tears, apathy... anything but. Normalcy. Dark bags under her eyes.

"R-Rory...?"

Maybe it was the same. Eyes widening in surprise, Rory stood there awkwardly for a moment, fingers twitching. "Hello..." She murmured as she gave into the urge and grasped at Ivan's arm, squeezing gently to see if he was real. She wanted to pull him close, to hold and coo over him like she had in the moments of calm within the game. "Fuck..." She looked at Ivan and then at herself ( ... )

"I... haven't run into any of them yet, Rory, but..." he leaned against the desk, hands flat on the surface, and curved forward at the small of his back to let his hair hang over his eyes. His knees were weak, it was as if his nightmare was becoming a reality. "We've won. The rabbits had their chance two days ago to catch us, but they guessed wrong and killed that Mr. Robertson and his partner. We have only--..." he lowered his voice, fearing that Raivis would overhear. He did not continue speaking until his feet carried him to the opposite side of Rory to pull the door shut and locked with a series of clicks and clacks.

"There are only three left for us to kill. We have the two rabbits..." his voice sank another notch in volume... predatory, more dangerous. "I'm going to kill Gilbert tonight Rory."

"I won't stop you." In all honesty she'd like to be the one to do the deed but something in his tone told it was best not to argue. "Good thing I found that pipe then?" She asked, her own voice getting quieter. Fingers twitched again as she leaned closer to Ivan. "I take it you'll be going to your Alfred afterwards?"

She had already moved Arthur out of that clue room, Peter out of the room he had died in too. Both were now in room 3, Dewi's room. His unknown partner had been moved into another that she couldn't recall. Not that she cared, her brothers were together in death. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the thoughts, the voices she did in an attempt to mimic her brothers, the taste of Arthur slowly rotting skin whenever she bit at him, hoping for a reaction.

Rory swayed slightly, turning green as she grasped at Ivan's jacket. "The sooner he's dead, the sooner we sleep...the sooner I can actually look at my brothers." She wondered if Arthur or Dewi had figured out who the gifts were from yet.
