To say Kai was excited would be a stale, greyed understatement. The flags of excitement were sailing high in his mind, having already drummed up a mental image of this guy that Søren seemed to be so head over heels for, envisioning him to be.. well, smaller, that's for sure. No way in hell Søren would want to court some butch ass, gangly limbed, eyepatch sporting weird guy
( ... )
Sindre almost gave the kid a brush off and closed the door-Valdi's age, likely looking for him-until he actually parsed the greeting. Wonderful. He had been trying to not think about his existence.
At least this kid was polite enough to bring a gift when he invited himself over. Pulling the door completely open, he gestured for the other to enter.
So. The man, or boy, Søren was potentially interested in was young, looked to be a bit shorter than Sindre himself, had dyed hair, and was insanely cheerful. Unexpected, minus the cheerful part. Taking another look at the tupperware container, he showed him to the living room. "You can take a seat on the couch, I'll be right back."
In the kitchen, he turned on the coffeemaker and grabbed some plates. Returning, Sindre set himself on the far side of the couch from the kid. Glancing over, he sighed. He was going to hate himself for this question. "I didn't catch your name. Who are you?"
His smile wavered in all its glory for only a shadow of a second, fueled by determination to make the best of this first meeting. Without a word Kai entered the apartment after Sindre's quiet invitation, eyes roaming the room from top to bottom from beneath the slant of amethyst fringe.
"Ahh, tak!" he cheerful replied, making certain to look at the other (even if their eyes didn't connect) as he spoke. Upon taking his seat on the couch the Dane nearly dove straight into conversation, the words fresh on the tip of his tongue as he looked up once again only to realize -- Sindre was already gone.
Sindre resisted the urge to move back. Of course people connected to Søren would have no sense of personal space. Or any sense of space people were trying to create.
This kid seemed almost more energetic than Sindre, if that were possible. That characteristic could make getting rid of him rather difficult. Although it might also make him distractable...
That line of thought was killed with Kai's last comment. Who knows what Søren had told him. And depending on what, this meeting could get very awkward.
He was going to save that question, however, until he knew a bit more about Kai. "And how do you know Søren?"
