According to some passers-by, it was officially the 'first day of Autumn.' Remy felt a little like stabbing them. What right did the weather have turning so cold already? September was practically summer, and yet, most mornings these days found the Island girl huddled under her blankets shivering. Her long sleeves and cozy jacket earned her a few odd stares, but the warmth was well worth it. What she wouldn't do to be back home on the beach enjoying the warm weather right now.....

The coffe shop that caught her eye had never seemed quite so appealing before, but Kim had mentioned once that they served hot cocoa, and on an unseasonably chilly day like today, that seemed absolutely heavenly.

She ducked into the little shop, her eye instantly drawn to a shock of bright red hair, and her first instinct was to wonder what Conner was doing out and about so soon after being hospitalized. But no.... that red hair would be quite a bit higher off the ground.

"Erin?"

She had been thinking of leaving, settling with her own tea. Just before turning around to make her escape, she heard her name called. It was that one girl she had met several times before. First at Lucy's party, few times with Kim, and now here. She was always quite friendly to her. Though, the second thought that came to mind was the girl's outfit. It really wasnt that cold, was it? Being from Ireland, this wasn't all that bad. Its when it was those hot summer days did she feel like complaining.

Erin waved and walked over to the girl, "Hello... Remy, yeah?"

"Yeah, that's right..." Remy smiled at the other girl, covering her sudden awkwardness. What on Earth did you say to a person who may or may not know you were their sibling? Erin was pretty easy to figure out; Conner had mentioned having a twin named Erin, and the resemblance practically reached out and smacked you in the face. Nobody had known about Remy until last winter, though. She'd just fallen into the family's collective lap with no warning. Would Conner have mentioned it?

"Umm.... How's it going? How's the kitten? You named her Ash, right?" Kind of a lame cover, but at least it was coffe-shop safe....

It felt a little awkward now. It always seemed that way when Erin came near her. Why was there always that invisible wall between them? She cant remember ever offending the girl, and Erin had no secrets that would hurt her if she found out...
"Yeah, i did. She's doing alright. I've been taking good care of her," She smiled, then looked away, towards the menu. "And i'm doing fine. Nothing to worry about."

Erin didnt mind the small talk, if it would allow for the awkwardness to be pushed away. Though that last part was a lie. Harmless one, that kept her sister out of trouble, but still a lie that wont let Erin look into anyone's eyes when she said it.
