WHO: Roma and Yao WHEN: Sometime waaaaaaaay back. Years ago. Like ancient times, no joke. (Present time reminiscing: July 22nd) WHERE: Chinatown, Los Angeles, California WHAT: "This American Dragon Association of yours, you say aru..."
It was on one of Roma's few visits to the states when he met the young man who left a long lasting impression on him. He was always one of the few people Roma learned to fully trust, would think twice if there was ever a time he needed to place a bullet through his head. Those who affected Roma in that manner he could count in one hand and still have fingers left over
( ... )
The twitch in his eye said enough as his hold on the notepad tightened. Perhaps it really was time he cut his hair or there would be more mistaking his gender something he still wished he had done to this day. However, he refrained from snapping a bitter remark less he lose his job. That was the last thing he needed at this time, and it damaged his pride to remind himself each time. So for the meantime, he would deal with it as he felt his notepad ready to snap in half.
Yao falsely smiled at the man he would learn to call Roma and asked as politely as he could, "Waiter, sir. Now may I take your order?"
He wanted to get this done with soon. The tension in the room felt as if it was ready to boil over, and Yao didn't want to be in the middle of it when it did.

That would be the second time in is life Roma mistook a beautiful man for a beautiful woman. The first being a certain German beauty but by the time he first met Yao, that relationship was long over because of Roma's mistakes.
So perhaps it's because he was reminded of a lost love that he wanted to continue talking to the waiter.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry...it still doesn't change the fact that I think you're absolutely beautiful." He then told Yao he would rather prefer to wait for his other guests to arrive before ordering.
"But unitl then, would you like to keep me company?"
Slightly taken aback by the comment, Yao coughed to hide the slight color on his face. Blushing at Roma's comment at how beautiful he was getting to him more than he would've liked, and it wasn't helping that the man was staring at him like that.
"I-I'm sorry," he stuttered, cursing his tongue for the mishap, "but I'm busy l-light now."
He managed to bite his tongue during his excuse, which wasn't backed by the fact the store was practically empty save for them and the cook in the kitchen. "Excuse me," Yao muttered, already fleeing to the kitchen where he quickly downed a glass of water. 天啊. This really wasn't what he needed right now.
