"Yeah sounds good!" said Matthew cheerfully. He still just couldn't believe the Blackhawks had won. The two of them began to navigate their way through the bar, back towards the exit. It was only when they were getting into the car that Matthew realized his friend might not like the unusual snack foods (mostly maple flavored) that now littered his apartment. Alfred has stopped buying the other kinds of snacks because Matthew drowned them all in syrup and Al had sais he was "Enabling" Matt. Whatever that meant.

"Uh, we might need too... Pick up some snacks." said Matt, a bit awkwardly. He hoped this wouldn't put a damper on the party, and he didn't want his friend to think he was just using him for a ride to the grocery store either. "I-I'll pay for it. Whatever kinds you want." he quickly tacked on. Hopefully Sindre wouldn't mind, but thinking about it. No big deal if he did, they just wouldn't get snacks then. Everyone liked maple flavored potato chips, right? Right?

Sindre grinned as he started his car. The boy was just so awkward about asking Sindre to be his license. Although, he supposed, he could understand why Matthew might be nervous about asking his boss to buy him alcohol. He was starting to see the boy as a friend, too, though, and he hoped that their relative statuses wouldn't cause a problem.

"That's fine, I don't mind," he replied. Luckily, the store was close, and game-talk filled up the travel time. Getting out of the car, he looked to the younger man. "I get drinks, you get snacks?" he offered. "So long as it's not an outlandish flavor, I pretty much like any kind of chips. And pretzels. What kind of drinks would you like me to grab?"

"Oh, uh. Anythings fine. Well, Coca-Cola if you don't mind." said Matthew. No outlandish flavors huh? Damn, that meant the maple chips would have been fine. Oh well, he thought as he went to get some normal flavored chips just in case. Some people were weird and didn't like the maple stuff and since they were already at the store, might as well get "normal" chips, just to be safe. He also picked up some pretzels (supposedly made with extra butter whatever that meant) before making his way back to the check out.

When he got there he saw that the older man had already paid for the drinks and had them in bags waiting for Matt. He hastily paid for his chips while talking to Sindre. "I said I would pay for it. How much did it cost?" he asked, planning on giving the other man the money. He already had his wallet out to pay for the chips anyway.

Sindre waved him off with a smile. "You said you would pay for snacks," he corrected, "I just bought drinks. And you're letting me come over. Just consider it a host's gift."

He led Matthew back to the car and carefully stowed the drinks and snacks in the trunk. "So where exactly is your apartment?" he asked as he pulled out of the parking lot.

Following Matthew's directions, the two of them were able to get to the apartment building with relative speed, despite getting caught behind a distracted mother going five miles under the speed limit. Sindre pulled the drinks out of the trunk as Matthew fiddled with the lock on the door. Finally getting inside, Sindre went to the kitchen to prepare rum and cokes while his friend went to the main area of the apartment, presumably to set up the snacks.

Matt got his own maple flavored snacks from his room before putting the potato chip and pretzel bags on the coffee table in front of the couch. This was awesome, this was great! A party was just what the doctor ordered. Well, the Stanley Cup helped too of course. It was really amazing how something exciting like this could lift a person's spirit. Matt took a bite of his maple chips and smiled. Delicious ( ... )

Sorry for the delay...and the short post... talks_to_nisse June 23 2010, 01:09:19 UTC
Sindre took a drink of his own before responding to Matthew. "Mine tastes normal". He snatched Matthew's from him and took a sip. He had mixed this one weaker than his own, but everything seemed to be in order. "Yours tastes right as well," he said, handing it back. "Anything in particular seem off with it?"

Sindre took a second to look at what Matthew had pulled out for them to eat. Were those maple flavored chips? And candy? "You have an...interesting taste in snacks, Matthew," he commented, reaching for a plain bag of chips. "Maybe that's why the coke seems off?"

TALK ABOUT A DELAY. what i had written got deleted and it was better than this ;-; mounties_rock July 7 2010, 10:10:45 UTC
Matthew look suspiciously at his drink again. He looked to Sindre before glancing back down at the beverage and taking a tentative sip. Nope it still tasted really weird. Sindre was right, it could have been the maple chips, except that he usually drank coke with these chips and it had never tasted like this before. He looked to Sindre once more and wondered if perhaps the older man was trying to trick him in some way. He seemed the type and he had offered to prepare the drinks but, if this was a joke it was just kind of weird and really sort of random.

Matt took another drink.

No, it definitely wasn't the chips he thought again reaching for another one. Mmm, he hummed as he ate it. The chips were really nice though, more than usual it seemed. Or maybe that was just the relaxed and slightly light headed feeling that was taking hold of him.

"You know these... chips are. DELICIOUS." he followed this sentence by taking a huge gulp of coke. Woah, even this stuff was starting to taste pretty good. Maple chips could do anything

Sindre's head hit the floor with a sharp crack, and he lay there for a few moments waiting for the rush of pain to abate. Carefully pressing his hand to his head, he cursed under his breath. Definitely going to be a lump there in the morning. No blood, though. Good sign.

"What the hell is it with you and beavers?" he snarled, twisting around and trying to pull himself out of the other's grasp. Wriggling out to his waist, he sat up and began kicking as best he could while pushing on Matt's shoulders. Matt let out a grunt as something connected, and Sindre took the chance to break free.

"Seriously, Matt, are you okay?" Sindre would have never expected his employee to physically assault him. He'd be on his guard now, but what had gotten into him?
