I DESERVE A RAISE FOR THIS.salylimonAugust 1 2009, 18:55:37 UTC
Emiliana felt rather exposed as she walked down the walkway and towards the party location. This sense of immodest exposure probably had to do more with the fact that this was work and not play, as she would normally feel fine about dressing the way she currently was if this had been any other day.
Adjusting the large beach bag she had slung over her shoulder, Emiliana glanced down to stare at the too short-shorts and sighed. Ah well, the white wifebeater she had on at least hid the girls for the time being. And also, her clothes would be easier to shuck off so she could swim once her break came around, so that was a plus.
Looking around, Emiliana quickly spotted Antonio standing near a small pavilion littered with boxes. And booze. Oh, today was going to be so much fun.
Sighing, Emiliana brought her hand up to wave at the Spaniard. "Hey Antonio!"
YOUR GETTING PAYED TIME AND A HALF ISN'T THAT ENOUGH? D:mustlovetomatoAugust 2 2009, 00:53:17 UTC
Just as Antonio had finished fixing his bathing suit, he heard a greeting directed at him. He looked over in that direction and smiled widely.
"Hey Emiliana!" he called out, waving back as she walked towards him. He figured having her here they would be able to handle the bar at least enough that they wouldn't have to worry about someone stealing any of the alcohol and would be able to both have a good time. The spaniard waited until she was over to where he was at before leaning on the counter and nodding lightly.
"I figure we could take two hour shifts?" He asked, resting his elbows on the surface and leaning gently. He didn't know whether she would want to do this or work the whole time. "Though if you want to work less I can take longer ones" he offered, ever the generous one.
Emiliana tossed her bag under the bar before looking back at Antonio. Leaning against the counter, she nodded slowly. "I'm fine with the two-hour shifts." she replied.
As much as she'd like for Antonio to take the longer shifts, it wasn't fair.
Oh well.
Glancing back at the boxes, she tilted her head, frowning slightly. "Do you need help with those?" she asked as she pushed herself away from the bar counter to walk over to them. "What's in here, anyway? More booze?"
WELL TO BAD! ANTONIO'S NOT BEING PAYEDmustlovetomatoAugust 2 2009, 01:39:53 UTC
Antonio nodded, his smile only widening. "Mikes hard lemonade" He explained with another nod, "we just need to put them in the cooler when you run out in there. There's the taps for the beer here" He motioned to the taps on one side of the bar with one arm. He then rested his arms on the counter again.
"Boss said we have two rules, no one getting smashed and drowning, and make sure we advertise" He explained, motioning to the sign hanging in front of him with one arm again.
"Which means you get to make the call on wether or not they get a drink" He smirked, knowing that she would like that part of the job. "Especially since its free" He chuckled and crossed one of his legs over the other.
...THAT SURE WAS SMART ON HIS PART.salylimonAugust 2 2009, 09:02:36 UTC
Emiliana smiled slowly in reply as she walked back towards the bar. Well, it didn't sound like that difficult a job. And judging by the drinks, people probably weren't going to get too drunk and crazy at the party.
Hopefully.
Emiliana snorted. Whoever manages to get themselves completely smashed off of Mike's Hard Lemonade should be laughed and pointed at. As for the beer, well, "What kind of beer is it? American?" Emiliana asked, nose scrunching up slightly.
Earlier that week, while Berwald ate dinner at Dos Llamas, Antonio had mentioned there would be a party today. He'd even sort of made it an invitation. So it would have been rather impolite not to show up, right? At least that was what Berwald had told himself when he'd become nervous about going.
Besides, beaches were nice, as long as one remembered to put on enough sunscreen. He'd also made sure to arrive early, when there wouldn't be too many people there yet.
Berwald looked around the so far mostly empty beach, spotting Antonio and his coworker, what was her name again, Emilia? No, that didn't seem quite right...Berwald hesitated, wondering if he should let Antonio finish setting up the party in peace, or offer to help.
