After surviving that dreadful day at that dreadful school, Kimmy decided to give herself a day off from school. The house needed some cleaning anyway, and there were still a few things that had to be put in place.
However, all that was put on hold when her cellphone rang. And she was almost surprised to hear the voice from the other end of the line. She hadn't heard from Aroon in weeks, and the first thing he said wasn't exactly a surprise. How many times had she told him to be careful with his car?
".... Again?" she asked, putting down the rag she was washing a table with.
Wincing at the “again”, Aroon stopped himself from whining some more. Honestly. It’s not that often! This was the first time this happened for….the last 2 months or so. Granted, he has been out of town for the past few months studying a new cooking method in a different city. But still!
“It’s not my fault. I was sleepy! The curb just came out of nowhere, I swear to god.”
...however, the excuses just floated out of him too naturally.
" Who drives when they're sleepy?" Kim sighed, and looked at the clock. 12:00 PM. " Fine, I'll come. Where are you now?" she asked, heading out the door.
Of course she had to smile. It had almost been boring without Aroon and his tiny mishaps around lately.
" And don't drive while tired anymore. You could've gotten in a much bigger mess."
"I ran out of flour and I wanted to make muffins......," Aroon sighs, “But the store ran out of flour too….so I had to go to the one that is farther away…!”
He looks around, scratching his head, “Um..I’m…in the middle of a road?”
Look to the left, “And uhh….there is a billboard for…I..I can’t read that.”
Look to the right, “And uh…there is a lot of dirt…”
