knitting a scarf anonymous January 7 2007, 02:19:15 UTC
I guess I could try to learn to knit a scarf. I would have 10 months to put it off, and then one week to produce a lovely scarf in time for the exchange right? I would love a huge basket full of different yarns anyway. Is this something I need to get a book for? And knitting needles, anything else? I'm getting excited thinking of the shopping....

Hi, Debi -

naw - you wouldn't need a book to do a scarf. I have done several with just knitting every row - garter stitch. Needles, yes, you will need those. ;-) Yarn, too. ;-)

Grab a skein of bulky weight yarn and large needles (size 11 or so) and just knit away until the yarn is all gone. Ta-dah!

welcome to the group and happy knitting!
