[ Peter looks like he wants to be anywhere but here, really. His eyes dart from person to person and he shies away from anyone who gets within a foot of him.
That's how he finds himself actually bumping into Drake with a bony shoulder. Oops. ]
S-sorry. [ His voice is hushed, just barely above a whisper and he looks rather horrified. Go figure. ]
[ And now Peter has the gall to look amused. It's brief, though, because he soon turns his gaze to the ceiling as if he's searching for the source of the quiet music. ]
If I said my parents weren't aware of my being adopted? Would that bother you?
[And now he's raising his hand in front of Peter's face with a small smile, waving it back and forth and getting uncomfortably close to him. Well, he wasn't uncomfortable with it, but he was sure that Peter would feel a bit differently.]
[ And Peter does indeed shrink away a bit, lower back resting against the bar at an uncomfortable level. If he was going to respond verbally, he isn't now. Whatever he was going to say met its death in his throat. He doesn't look scared, at least. Just uncomfortable. ]
[ He retrieves his cigarette gratefully, taking a drag near immediately. While Peter finds he likes Drake's smile, he doesn't quite trust his words. Sluagh are strange like that. ]

[So he pulls away, but when he holds up his hand again, he's holding two cigarettes. Might want to check your hand, Peter.]

That's the second time since I've been here. [ His tone is anything but accusatory. In fact, he sounds more bewildered than anything else. ]
You're good with your hands.

[He allows himself a chuckle, handing the cigarette back to Peter.]
If you were anyone else, I probably wouldn't have told you.
[That's a huge gaping lie right there, but he makes it look pretty with a smile. He just likes making people feel special.]

Do you take things often?

[Another gaping lie, but he didn't want throw away that persona of his and give it to the dogs.]

Small trinkets. Things most people consider too damaged to be worth anything.
