[AMIAMI vs. HOBBY SEARCH]

Aug 10, 2010 17:41

FUCK, I can't believe Hobby Search has already closed reservations for Dead Master. I was planning on reserving all the figures that have caught my eye tomorrow too, but I guess I just underestimated just how many more people are reserving these things too. Black Rock Shooter is still available, but... I can't have Black Rock Shooter without Dead ( Read more... )

black rock shooter, magical girl lyrical nanoha, figures, tamad hates money, flyable heart

I vaguely remember stumbling across it before, and found the site itself to be a bit shady and untrustworthy lol. If you pre-order from there though, then perhaps I'll give it a go sometime down the future.

/is a huge figure nerd hahaha used to write for a figure blog orz

AmiAmi isn't that bad. Along with HobbySearch, it's pretty much the biggest online store for Japanese stuff. There are times HObbySearch might re-open the pre-order if they're able to get more but if not, it's pretty much closed. If both fail, there's also Otacute.com I tend to use them for backup and really popular stuff gets sold out.

Dear lord, are you really?! Marry me now. \o/ I'd like to consider myself a figure nerd... but my collection and knowledge regarding figures is pathetic haha.

Yeah, I figured I'm shit out of luck the moment huge stores like Hobby Search close their pre-orders. I guess that teaches me the valuable lesson of no longer procrastinating when it comes to these things? I checked out Otacute, and it'll be on my radar for sure just in case Hobbysearch and AmiAmi fail me, so thanks.

Oh damn, you missed her, huh? Shit. Good luck. BRS and DM are stuff I stalked right away because I knew this would happen. I don't know how their stock for it will be, but when it's Nanoha related... you only get one chance. Fans for it are crazy. On release, they'll be sold out right away. BRS might be different. Who knows. Aside from an earlier BRS figure, there hasn't been many BRS incidents.

AmiAmi is good though. You pay through paypal which is great. Only problem is your account can't track orders. You just have to set aside the automated email and not lose it.

I'm a total scrub when it comes to hunting figures, so I'll do well to remember pre-ordering popular shit immediately in the future. I knew BRS was going to be crazy, but I actually didn't think that Nanoha was going to be just as popular. Goes to show just how I know about my fandoms. :p

And yeah, I'm really diggin' AmiAmi right now. I'll make sure to keep all the e-mails I get from them though, thanks.

A friend of mine recommended AmiAmi too, and so far she had no problem with their services. Haven't tried that place out though!

I'm potentially enjoying it more than Hobby Search so far, so your friend has good taste. /thumbs up
