Danny walked this trail before. Over branches and rocks, dodging low branches. The way to the small pond nestled in these woods was so familiar, a map tattooed over Danny’s memory. Which was why the faint glimmer and buzzing noise caught him off guard. There were legends but Danny stopped believing in them when he was too old to sit on his gran’s knee

Oh my, yes, I agree with the other anon! That's so sad!!! And beautiful, fragile, bittersweet... Of course, I suppose there is no way George could ever have remembered, because if he had, it would have turned into more than one night.
