First of all HELL YES!! HP all the way! But I do agree that Twilight WAS fun. And I'll leave it at that and for every time I remember the series...
Oh goodness, NO! I never expected something like HP either (she never showed that she had that kind of guts or talent as JK to weave things together and make sense of mysteries later...) So I wasn't expecting the same phenomenon but I did expect something fantastic to happen with the Volturi (that was the only thing she hinted at and built up that she did not deliver).
I had a great time reading it.I did at first, but then it started to drag on... and that killed it for me. But you made some freaking awesome points, and as much as I hate to compare books also (esp. if they're not even about the same thing, lol) I like your comparison or rather analysis of the differences of death to each author. I really love that. It makes me feel better. Had I gone into reading BD with ( ... )

So I wasn't expecting the same phenomenon but I did expect something fantastic to happen with the Volturi (that was the only thing she hinted at and built up that she did not deliver).
Well, she didn't manage to build anything up so I barely noticed lol! I mean, all I felt she was building up to was Bella showing her superpower. I was really looking forward to that and I didn't care about the other stuff going on around her.
Jeez, did you see how crazy people were acting? Returning the books to the book stores, demanding refunds and protesting. Calling her a talentless... Totally freaking OD!!I read about that right before I bought the book and I was SO freaked out!!!! I mean really, people are SO crazy! I hope nobody got their money back because holy shit, can you imagine if people actually started doing that? "Oh I hate this book so I'm returning it and getting my money back". Would that happen in movies as well? When we go see HBP, will we be allowed to get a refund if we hate ( ... )

long story short i agree with about eveytyhing you said, esp; the closure part.

JKR means sth in her book, with everything she writes [...] twilight, it's just meant to be enjoyable and shallow
Exactly!! HP is a very complex set of books with a lot of themes: death, friendship, father figures, establishement... And Twilight's a romance novel about love with some fantastic elements thrown in like vampires and werewolves. Like SM said, Twilight was about finding love, New Moon was about loosing love, Eclipse was about choosing love and Breaking Dawn was about keeping love. So they're not something that should be taken seriously, you know? (lol where the hell was I going with all this??)
