Okay, so, I lost my cell phone two weeks ago. And I have to say I have not missed it much, really I have not, I hate the phone, but I also find I can't live without the frigging thing, so I am finally going to get a new phone and a new service provider (fuck you Bell Mobility! Oh, it's sad, but I understand: I have the emails of two dead friends on my Outlook.

I have emails from my mother pasted in my journals, and her number would still be in my cell had I not changed phones, providers, and all.

I pay a small monthly fee to Verizon for a service called Backup Assistant which automatically syncs all the data on my phone to a web-based database. It's kind of disconcerting when the phone mysteriously lights up at 11:59 pm each night, but I don't have to worry about losing numbers or photos or calendar events from my phone. I have come to use it much more as a PDA these days. Now I have to figure out the music feature, because it would be a much more comfortable size at the gym than my big iPod.

That sounds ... way too advanced for the likes of me. And yet, strangely attractive. Hmmmm.

And thank you for sending your number!

I know what you mean, I have the same thing. I'm sorry you lost those numbers. Once I started to delete one of mine and then it asked, "are you sure you want to delete X?" And I was like, "NO! No! I don't want to delete X!"

Am emailing you my number now.

I relate to that need to save old numbers, especially the ones of people who aren't around any longer.

Happy Extremely Belated Birthday!
