Fic pet peeve

I love crossovers but I really, really, hate it when authors write a character crossing over into another fandom and one side or the other knows that it's fictional. Like if a character ends up in the Harry Potter books and they're like, "I'm in the Harry Potter books! I've totally read those!" Or Xander from Buffy shows up in a new world and

Well normally I'd agree with you, there's one exception though, if it's a crossover with the spn ep Changing Channels*g*
