This is so interesting and involving. The interplay with the clips are very well timed. It's very layered and rich. I feel like I'm not even understanding everything because I haven't watched all those shows. It makes me want to finish watching Revenge. I like the use of text in the beginning to set it up. It's so creepy, yet not that strange. It's strange to see so much technology in a vid. I usually don't notice, but wow, there really is a lot with so many devices and them all playing parts in the storylines.

Thank you!! I don't know if I can totally and wholeheartedly recommend Revenge, but honestly you might enjoy its crazy ride. I put up with it because it has its high moments and wonderful characters, but it's a bit of a mess.

But I'm so glad you enjoyed this vid, and liked the use of text in it! I hesitated before using so much text sporadically throughout, but I'm glad I went for it now.

And yes, soo much tech in these shows once you start collecting it together! So very many girls with cell phones/laptops/you name it! I could have gone on and on, filled a twenty minute song :) Probably good I didn't let it go that far, though :D

This was a really interesting, powerful and thought-provoking vid. I'm familiar with Veronica Mars and Revenge, but not the other two fandoms, however, the various iterations of surveillence and how the familiar idea of girls/women being watched is complicated, even subverted by their agency and use of the same tools in these various stories (eg one about a group of friends, some about pairs of friends and one about a young woman who we see as a girl) was so rich. Loved the push-pull of strength-vulnerability here on an emotional level and a thinky one.

Belatedly (and I'm sorry I missed this comment earlier!) thank you for such a thoughtful comment! I love how you summarize the idea here--iterations of surveillance, that's such a terrific turn of phrase for it! And yes, I was trying to get exactly at that tension, that push-pull of strength-vulnerability. Again, beautifully put! Comment much appreciated :)

This is incredibly powerful. (And you just introduced me to a song I need to go buy.)

Aww, look at your Veronica Mars icon! Sigh, they look so young there.

I'm thrilled that you found this vid effective. And yes, Son Lux is wonderful and I can't recommend his work enough!
