Thank you!! <3 It was a process in stages, and I almost cut Gaga at the end (I remember you hesitated about her as well) but in the end I felt she had to be there. I'm really happy with what the vid became in the end.

Oh wow, I really liked this! I think the emotional connection definitely got made despite my lack of knowledge in the sources; the lack I felt more in the intellectual "I don't know all how the contexts tie together" rather than the emotional, which is way less important in the flow of things. I particularly loved how you blended Lady Gaga into the older sources, and the part where he meets Blaine was really affecting for me despite not knowing much of what was going on.

But anyway, I'm so glad that you liked it, and that you feel it works emotionally even without the source text knowledge--because there were so many source texts, I knew that very few viewers if any would have all the points of reference, so I really wanted the emotion of the vid to carry through even when the specifics did not. That was a major goal.

And more than that, you have no idea how happy I am that you picked out Lady Gaga. Suffice it to say that the Lady Gaga footage has a rocky history, and I went back and forth on whether to include it, and finally just kept it because I couldn't stand to take it out. It meant something to me but I was afraid it would actually confuse the viewer. So, yay Gaga!

Saw this about the Gaga footage scrolling up and had to comment. In the moment, it worked for me - I didn't think about it not being older source like the other movies. And partly it's because it was knowing what she meant to Kurt, but mainly it was that that footage in that moment felt just right.

This was absolutely gorgeous. I found that the images you incorporated into the video--the characters found there, the scenes, the songs--fit perfectly with Kurt, and it became a beautiful character study, really delving into what makes Kurt who he is, the good and the bad, and how strong he really is. Thank you.
