I dreamt about my high school teacher crush last night. It was a good dream. Lots of meaningful looks and repressed emotion. It has left me unsettled ( Read more... )

Aww, dreams like that really are unsettling.

Vimes ♥ indeed. I've just finished Nightwatch (my fave of all) and am moving on to the next!

I'm doing my best to pretend work isn't happening :(

Let me know how the tablet works out, I'm kind of in the market for one at the moment...

And aww, thanks for the rec sweetie, although I am both sorry and not-sorry for making you cry...

I hope the work isn't too bad. I'll write you a happy-fluffy ficlet of some kind if you want to give me a prompt? As a kind of reward for making it through tomorrow?

The tablet was an impulse, spurred on by a friend who brought one - it's refurbished and was only £54, so hopefully it will be okay. I don't really need one, I have a laptop, but I just wanted it y'know? Will let you know how it works out.

Similarly I will let you know if work pans out or if I end up under my desk gently rocking!

Don't be sorry for making me cry, it's a beautiful piece of writing and James' 'collapse' is what brought me to sobbing. I knew where the piece was going very early on, so it wasn't the death itself that done it, but the beautiful way you wrote James' mourning.

As for fluffy ficcing... well, I'd be a fool to say no (!), Something Lewis would be lovely, or H50. Fluff around surviving a day at work perhaps (then I can bask if I make it, or imagine if I don't!)

xx

I look forward to hearing about tablet and work. I'm sure it will be... tolerable?

Yes, I didn't think the 'secret' of the fic was much of a secret really, but I am glad the emotional impact was there.

Hmm... after work fluffiness, I'm pretty sure I can manage that. I'm thinking some Steve/Danny pre-slash h/c here... Will that do madam? :)

Vimes is also popular at my house. My partner loves Night Watch very much, and I bought Snuff for him for Christmas, but he still hasn't read it for some reason, and if I keep mentioning it I'm worried he'll turn against the book or be put off, and of course I can't crack the spine on HIS unread book... so I'll have to get it out of the library in order to read it myself.

Today I went and borrowed Unseen Academicals because I never read that one either. Well, I read half and life was so busy I ended up having to return it unfinished. Too busy to read - how did such a thing happen to me?

Life has a tricky habit of getting in the way - but I read every night in bed to help me sleep, and I take my kindle most places, so I read whenever I get a chance...
