Heike took a deep breath before entering the opera house, ticket held tight within his grasp. It wasn't his first time in such a place but it was the first time that he would be sharing the evening with the high fliers of society rather than the families of the extras high up in the peanut gallery. He tried to ignore that sinking feeling in his gut about how elaborate everyone's outfits were compared to him, maybe what he was wearing really was more middle class than upper but...knowing more than one language must mean you're posh, right? Shaking his head, he tried to get a hold of one of the ushers to guide him to his seat.

" M'excuser mais vous peut..."

Of course the usher would move as he reached him, bumping into him and sending Heike stumbling into another man. In his head he groaned at how much more fancily dressed this man seemed, of course it would be the most influent person he'd crash into. "Ah! I'm really sorry..." he gulped before looking up.

Wow was he pretty.

FOR A FACE SUCH AS YOURS~? OF COURSE. talks_to_nisse August 7 2011, 07:46:36 UTC
Automatically grabbing on to the man who stumbled into him, Sindre's face creased into a frown. He was prepared to give the man a tongue-lashing; he didn't like people unnecessarily close to him, and he certainly didn't like them crashing into his personal space.

His words were halted by one look at the man's face. Wide-eyed, young, and very visibly apologetic.

And attractive. His face still held a hint of cuteness, though Sindre thought with age it would fade into strictly handsomeness.

His expression gentled, and he asked, "Are you all right?"

He should stop staring.

"Y-Yes, I'm okay thank you."

He should really stop staring. Feeling his face go redder by the second, Heike finally looked away. Steadying himself for a moment before moving away, he gave the man another bow. "Sorry again for that...I've never been to this opera house before." it was a white lie, he had been here before, on several occasions even. He'd just never been to this part of the building before. He wasn't going to admit that though, he probably stood out enough round here already. "Came quite a distance to see this performance."

His fingers twitched, wanting to play with his hair, leaving him to twist the ticket in his hand to calm his nerves. "I...I should probably go and find my seat..."

Sindre sighed as he wove his way among the revelers. He didn't know how he ended up at these things. He would be fully against participating, but somehow his friends were always persuasive.

Which is how he ended up here, face hidden behind a silver fox mask, making his way around. Still an hour before he could be sure his friends would be too cozied up with another to notice his disappearance. Surely there could be something that would catch his interest...

A flash of color caught his eye, and he turned to get a better glimpse. Muscled thighs, strong shoulders, and an extremely attractive ass met his gaze. But what he found most appealing was the shock of red hair. Redheads weren't exactly common, and he had always found the color to be very pleasing.

A grin tugged at his lips. Maybe there was someone interesting here after all.

Sure masked balls were fun but Donald thought it was missing the--how can one say it--excitement like the atmosphere in a local tavern! Truth be told, however, he was getting quite acquainted with this environment, for there were many vixens whisking away with their beaus. Oh, he would never admit he was jealous. He would admit that he felt lonely though, for even an idiot would notice that; he didn't want to lie to himself. Donald had been alone the whole entire time, mostly hanging around the refreshments table.

When he noticed someone walk his way, he raised a brow behind his 'Phantom of the Opera' mask (the only mask he didn't think looked cheesy). Ah, why it was a man with a fox mask!

Raising his cup of wine a little as part of his greeting, he then grinned. "Well 'ello there. Nice mask. I've seen some folks with some real weird ones n' yers ain't half bad, really." Donald took a gulp of the wine. " Rose wine. French stuff. Ancestors are probably cringing up in Heaven but the taste is grand!"

Grin growing into a slight smirk, Sindre curled his fingers around the stem of the wine glass, ensuring that they brushed the other man's. Without taking the wine from the other man, Sindre lifted the glass to his own lips.

"It does have a good taste," he replied, taking another sip. "I would enjoy becoming better acquainted."

He let his hand fall away as he let the comment hang there, allowing the double meaning its chance to sink in. Before the pause would become awkward, however, Sindre spoke again.

"Where might your ancestors hail from, for them to take offence at good wine?"

Sindre fiddled with his glass as he waited for the girl to appear. Nicoleta he told himself. He was meeting Nicoleta. But it was hard to keep the name of his prospective bride in mind when he had never met the girl ( ... )

She had argued that she did not want to go. Her grandfather merely begged and mumbled on the phone even more, insisting that she must go should she care for his health. It had, to her disdain, to do with keeping the magic bloodline. Undoubtedly frustrated, she eventually complied albeit feeling a little broken inside. The fact that her grandfather sold his only granddaughter's future for his 'perfect bloondline' deeply made her unhappy ( ... )

Sindre looked up as someone--Nicoleta, she said--introduced herself. So this was the girl his family was pushing for his intended.

He hadn't expected someone quite so...pretty. And she looked about as enthused to be here as he was.

At least they had something in common.

Not standing, Sindre nodded at her. "Sindre," he replied. "You can take a seat wherever; the box might not be large, but I have been assured we have it to ourselves for the evening."

Sindre couldn't quite hide his open stare. He had never seen such opulence. Never had cause to, except when pulling a job. But those were always in darkened rooms, and he had never had the opportunity to actually see the room as it was meant to be seen ( ... )

For it being the biggest of the, whatever time period they were insisting this time, Heike really couldn't be bothered. All operas seemed the same to him after a while. But no, he had to attend in order to represent his family. Silently he cursed his elder siblings who had somehow found the perfect excuse not to attend (and he had a feeling his brother's would involve that Japanese girl he's always staring after) leaving himself to be bored out of his skull as fat woman sang about how they didn't want their love, who always seemed to be an old man, to leave but he had to and there would suddenly be a chorus of people singing about why he had to go. At least it was so loud that hewasnt going to fall asleep ( ... )

Unbidden, a small smile crossed his face. "Good. 'M glad I didn't cause harm."

He immediately berated himself. He had to watch his grammar. He couldn't have attention called to himself. He found himself quickly scanning the nearby patrons, but none were looking at them.

Turning his attention back to the man in front of him, Sindre tossed him a considering look. Judging by his clothes, he likely fit in here. Perhaps he could be of use.

"You're fine," he assured, only somewhat a lie. "With so many people here, it would be hard to avoid everyone."

Sindre wasn't sure if it was the rarity of the event, the soaring music, or simply the man at his side, but as the opera progressed, he was finding it more and more difficult to keep still. It wasn't as if he and Berwald never went on dates, but since they naturally spent a good deal of time together, it rarely felt necessary for them to go out. Even when they did, they tended to be low-key. Minimal displays of affection, more casual outings, nothing that couldn't just be two close friends out ( ... )

For all that he'd usually consider it unnecessary extravagance, in the privacy of his mind Berwald had to admit the private box was rather comfortable. While he could usually ignore the feeling, he did sometimes feel a bit... crowded in movies and theater and such, that required sitting in narrow benches with a roomful of strangers, elbows brushing by accident...or worse, having to awkwardly squeeze past a row of people to get to his seat ( ... )

Smirking at the way Berwald moved into him, Sindre wrapped an arm around the other man, fingers resting casually on Berwald's hip. He put only the slightest of pressure on it, subtly encouraging his boyfriend to lean in closer to him.

Sindre could better see Berwald's face at this distance, and he couldn't help the smirk from fading into a fond smile. Berwald's enjoyment of his surroundings was evident; Sindre simply hoped to increase that enjoyment.

"I asked if you were enjoying the show. I would hope you're having a good time."
