Sharing is the BEST! But it doesn't feel good unless it absolutely prevents a person who likes it from finding the actual artist and getting to see more of their work. The internet demands you get no credit for having good ideas. STEALING YAY!

That's one of my major hates on the internet, right up there with Social Justice on Tumblr and COMMENTRATESUBSCRIBE on Youtube.

>Social Justice on Tumblr

I used to follow a tumblog that mocked social justice folks, until the guy gave up when he realized he wasn't actually doing much good compared to the sheer number of SJ folks. After he did that, I decided it wasn't worth it looking for SJ issues to reblog with angry rebuttals. And then I keep running into it, like the guy on Kotaku recently who seemed entirely unable to comprehend the idea that white men are discriminated against because they're white men, despite the fact that he was responding to a white man who was specifically told he couldn't get a job because he was a white man.

And don't get me started on the Tone Argument, which is basically just "even if what I'm saying makes you upset, you have to listen to me." Strangely, the people who use it also reserve the right to dismiss someone out of hand on the slightest offense.

I once said that most of the typical SJ-related buzzwords counted as trigger words for me. People believed me.

I was once reamed out so badly for a comment on the Dresden Files that if made me physically ill.

Funny thing was, I meant I liked Harry's chauvinism as a justified and acknowledged character flaw, not in and of itself. I just phrased it poorly and the person I was talking to jumped down my throat. Which meant that for something like a year, just seeing the word feminism on the internet or getting near a post that dealt with gender issues made me break out in a metaphorical cold sweat.

Course, that was over half a decade ago, and now my blood pressure spikes and talk about it at length to strangers on the internet at the slightest excuse.

Everyone with any sense hates 9gag. Everyone. At least with Tumblr there's the implicit assumption that you got it from someplace else. 9gag just slaps their stupid logo right on the bottom of the image, obliterating any original watermark.
