I look forward to your teaching stories five to ten years from now, when you are the grizzled veteran teacher.

Your common response to your students will be: "ENGLISH MOTHER FUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?"

In my job as a receptionist, I am sometimes tempted to ask people whether they speak and understand English as well as they think they do. (Note: this is never something I'm even remotely tempted to do with non-native English speakers. It's always the native English speakers with the comprehension issues.)

I'm glad to hear that you'll be making an attempt to journal some of your experiences as a teacher. No matter how depressing some kids can be (there's always going to be some kid that thinks they either can't or won't succeed via work), you're going to inspire somebody to be the best person that they can be.

I'm starting Library & Information Science school in the fall, and will be moving to the Orlando area. If you'd like, I could start posting stories from the depths of the library experience. (Right now I'm volunteering in the library at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Idiocy abounds.) I know I definitely look forward to "adventures of Sergio the teacher" in the future.
